half tide . . .
a dragonfly pauses
on a spruce tip
afternoon heat
bumblebees crowd
a thistle head
island dawn
before the rooster
gulls
island dawn
a passing ship’s foghorn
reaches my dream
low tide . . .
the puppy’s nose
speckled with sand
bergamot
a hummingbird chases off
a hummingbird moth
unfallen rain . . .
bees in the mint
heavy with pollen
the cardinal’s song
becoming more intense
summer rain
the wood duck’s whistle
as she flushes from the reeds
summer rain
Happy birthday, Mom! xo
just the sound of your voice summer rain
the hush of summer rain at dawn mourning doves
