daylily sun . . .
the rooster crows
to his last days
summer heat . . .
ants cluster
on a melon rind
morning ferry
porpoises slip in
and out of fog
a gull flies over
with a lobster claw
summer heat
new moon
a luna moth clings
to the porch screen
Take 2:
new moon a luna moth’s invisible pheromones
high noon
a firefly pausing briefly
on a fern frond
roses wet with fog . . .
a fishing boat rumbles
out of the harbor
Fourth of July
the wind
does what it wants
morning heat
a vireo warms up
his voice
Fourth of July
an American Lady pauses
in the clover
island morning
a foghorn moaning
in my bones
