what’s left of summer
a catbird scolds
in the pokeweed
on a quest
for the black butterfly
blackberries
believing
the impossible
pixie cup lichen
sea-worn pebbles
held by sea-worn bedrock
long-distance marriage
my name on your lips dewberries
the widow says
August is a hard month
stacked clouds
crickets, fog
my favorite grey t-shirt
in tatters
wildfire haze
a gull flies off
with another bone
the voices of two wrens receding fog
rain in the night beading on the tent caterpillars
mid-story
she plucks and eats
a rose hip
