Haiku: they’re not what you think!
Learn more at this introductory workshop (while surrounded by inspiring bird art). Kristen will share a brief history of this intriguing art form that originated in Japan more than 500 years ago and has since become one of the most popular poetic forms in the world. You’ll learn what makes a poem a haiku (it’s probably not what you think), and how haiku are written today in the United States. Then you’ll write your own haiku!
Limited to 10 participants, there will be a fee. Registration opens on 1 January 2025 via the Wendell Gilley Museum.
