where the house burned down
a field of wildflowers
fledgling finches
summer heat
the beguiling blue eyes
of a dragonfly
swim float
the splash of my dive scatters
the damselflies
summer haze
the roadside crowded
with Queen Anne’s lace
loon calling in flight
dawn of another
crazy day
afternoon haze
the wheezy calls
of the young titmouse
fledgling titmice
the kid’s attempt
to whistle
hum of the AC . . .
singing Summertime
at the top of my lungs
evening cool
we turn off the fans
to hear crickets
summer ennui
St. John’s wort flowers
boost my mood
strong morning light
the injured robin
avoids rescue
