catching
the first light
yellow warbler
restless wind
flickers ricochet
from tree to tree
flat calm
the sudden bluster
of blue jays
half moon
her sly smile visible
in the dark
first red leaves
a chipmunk warns
of danger from above
even the crickets
sound exhausted . . .
. . . low water
small-craft advisory
wind-riding gulls
blow past the moon
small-craft advisory
a gust of wind
sways the web
new moon . . .
yellow periwinkles
mark the tideline
new moon
the ebbing tide strands
an oyster-thief
down to the shore
with a bucket of lobster shells
summer sunset
