deep cold
a helix of squirrel tracks
winds between oaks
afternoon snowfall revisiting Narnia
snow, dusk
listening to music
from the year I was born
regime change
more snow
on the way
winter’s midpoint . . .
a red pickup crosses
the frozen lake
sun on snow
two dogs frolic outside
the ice-fishing shacks
one crow on watch
while two feed
fresh snow
winter rain
the window candle
turns on before dark
above the mountains
of plowed snow
Venus
slow-falling snow
a cardinal takes her time
in the feeder
spitting snow . . .
a flock of robins scatters
through the sumacs
