pulmonaria
breathing deep the perfume
of earthworms
stepping lightly
a fritillary
in the bergamot
a deep breath of spring pulmonaria
sun burning through fog
I forget the name of this
pink day lily
storm front
the day lilies bend
before it
the prickly state of the globe thistle
visiting
my neighbor’s peach-pink poppies
a honeybee and I
pivoting . . .
an iris in bloom
snapped by the storm
a white iris
we don’t remember planting
morning fog
high summer
the monarch pauses
atop the coneflower
garden dirt
my thigh sports a smear
of pollen
