a silent key
on the old piano
evening fog
parade route the sidewalk lined with free zucchinis
more awake than I feel morning cardinal
blackberries . . .
a few more waxwings
than yesterday
deep forest
the raven overhead
falls silent
Perseids . . .
the Milky Way spills
into the ocean
sweet peas . . .
I disturb the damselflies’
afternoon tryst
the way some
childhood memories stick
burdocks
leaf shadows
a baby catbird bumbles
through the viburnum
the roadkill
unrecognizable
morning downpour
leaping up
to see the porpoises
sunlit waves
