A little wordplay from when I was half-awake in the wee hours last night:
Olduvai Gorge
the great rift between us
and our ancestors
the new doctor
doesn’t introduce herself . . .
antiseptic sky
tattered prayer flags
the supplications
of winter beeches
kitchen clatter
porch rails shadow
backyard snow
right
where we want them
winter bluebirds
winter solitude . . .
last summer’s hydrangea
tumbleweeds down the street
first vulture
or maybe it never left
February thaw
the crows
call for a caucus
Cooper’s hawk
winter storm watch
once again the blue jay
knocks off the feeder
acting out
Frost’s snow poem
four crows
a mouthful
of fresh snow
the owl’s nest hole
